beIN MEDIA GROUP screens UEFA Champions League for Afghan Evacuees in Qatar
beIN’s talent engaged with the evacuees and toured their housing facility
beIN MEDIA GROUP, the global sports and entertainment broadcaster and its flagship channel beIN SPORTS provided Afghan evacuees hosted in Qatar with a screening of Tuesday’s exhilarating UEFA Champions League match between Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Manchester City that resulted in a triumphant 2-0 win for PSG
This initiative comes after beIN MEDIA GROUP Chairman and PSG President Nasser Ghanim Al-Khelaifi visited the housing facility for Afghan evacuees where he watched the children play football and gifted them with PSG T-Shirts.
beIN SPORTS’ very own talent Ibrahim Al-Khalfan, Andy Gray, Hafid Derradji, Nicky Crosby, Sware Aldhab, Richard Keys, and Rafik Saifi were amongst the beIN representatives that engaged with the evacuees and toured their housing facility.
As part of its corporate commitment, beIN MEDIA GROUP has always endeavored to motivate people of all ages, ethnicity, gender, and backgrounds with positive, inspiring events and stories by showcasing world class sports and entertainment content that transcends borders and unites people.
Commenting on the initiative, Mohammad Al-Subaie, Acting CEO of beIN MENA, said: “It was truly special to share the joy of football with our Afghan brothers and sisters. We at beIN felt it was important to play a part in supporting the country-wide humanitarian efforts to give the evacuees the care and sense of normalcy they deserve. We hope our humble presence was enjoyed and will become a fond memory that they look back on of their time in Qatar.”
Qatar has been hosting thousands of Afghans and foreign evacuees since the beginning of the Taliban takeover last month. Located in Doha, the evacuees are safely housed in facilities that provide them with all the comforts and care needed.
