Federer Eyes 20th Major Crown at US Open

It’s billed to be one of the most unpredictable grand slams in recent years. The US Open is the last of Tennis’ four grand slams. Round 1 gets underway on August 28th in Flushing Meadows, New York, with the final champion set to be crowned on September 10th.

The men’s tournament promises to be a thrilling one after the withdrawal of several top guns such as Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and defending champion Stan Wawrinka has blown the draw wide open. Roger Federer and now world number one Rafael Nadal are considered the favorites, with Federer in search for a historic 20th major title to further cement his status as the greatest ever.
On the women’s side, Maria Sharapova returns to action in her first grand slam event since serving a 15-month doping suspension.
