Producer (Jeem)

The Producer is responsible for delivering segment, show, live show, or any other required aspect of the production process. The Producer will coordinate closely with the Senior Producer and may replace him/her when needed. He/she will take responsibility for delivering the editorial content within a Production and will suggest new and innovative programs and content for Jeem TV.

Missions

• Responsible for managing the production of programs, to take responsibility for the editorial content and the creative style of programs.
• To take overall responsibility for delivering the program to budget and on time.
• Interprets ideas in a way that shows an understanding of the artistic potential of television to deliver the editorial purpose of the program.
• Works with Senior Producer to ensure that a production budget and logistic plan are in place for the production of the program, identifying the requirements for staff, freelancers and resources.
• Works with Senior Producer to ensure that presenters and contributors are identified and allocated for the program.
• Works to set an appropriate budget which ensures the programs are completed within the agreed funding.
• Briefs all staff in the program team on all elements of the program including editorial, creative, presentation and style.
• Supervises the preparation of the program including all editorial aspects, filming, editing, and studio recording.
• Ensures the production coordinators receive all the information necessary to support the budgeting and logistics for the program.
• Works with the production coordinators to negotiate with external organizations to obtain filming permits, identify logistical arrangements and to find appropriate resources.
• Works with the casting team to identify requirements for the program.
• Co-ordinates with Senior Producer on the use of allocated staff and resources.
• Takes full editorial responsibility including overseeing the Director and/or Assistant Producer in the studio, outside broadcasts or location filming with Presenters and Contributors.
• Contributes to the development of innovative ideas for every year planning.
• Works with Online and Multi-Media to make sure that they know about planned programs that may be exploited to reach more of the Jeem audience online
• Makes sure that Marketing and Branding have all content and information necessary to support the promotion of Jeem programs delivered on time.
• Works closely with the Senior Producer and keeps him informed on all editorial and financial issues associated with the production of the programs.
• Assist with department requirements.
• Regularly check weekly/monthly programming schedule.
• To carry out interviews for programs when required.
• To travel and carry out special events or programs abroad.
• To train and coach new staff members.
• May be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events or other activities.
