Senior Systems Engineer/Specialist
Senior Systems Engineer is responsible to lead, manage, operate and maintain systems, solutions and services delivered by IT Infrastructure Section. Provide escalation support, address incidents and problems to all systems and related infrastructures including software and hardware. Lead new initiatives of IT for the continuous infrastructure and service improvement projects.
Missions
- Lead, administer, manage and maintain all IT Systems solutions, services, systems and infrastructure
- Provide escalation support to issues, incidents and problems and ensure problems are addressed with continuous work and follow-up
- Ensure proactive service, system and solution improvement
- Evaluate solutions and technologies and recommend solutions
- Prepare RFP and liaise with procurement to complete the procurement process and review contracts, SLA etc
- Install, configure, and maintain Servers, exchange, file & print servers, Citrix Infrastructure, Active directory, SQL servers, Clusters, Web & Application servers, Backup solutions, HyperV, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and other services
- Supervise and train Systems Engineers in their tasks
- Maintain software and hardware licenses for the organization
- Plan and implement server security, including best practices, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions
- Ensure backup of all systems and test restores, prepare disaster recovery plans and maintain information integrity
- Develop and conduct various training and instruction for system users, Helpdesk and NOC team on systems, services and other applications
- Implement preventive measures and perform maintenance in compliance with company and vendor standards. Ensure security standards and organization and IT policies and procedures are followed
- Investigate, recommend and implement enhancements and operating procedures that optimize system/service availability
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed
- Perform Database administration and management
- Manage and maintain web infrastructure and related services
- Document problems and resolutions for future reference
- Keep self-updated with latest technologies
- Assist team leader and supervisor in their tasks
- Work in off-hours on-call rotation and available 24*7
- Timely and prompt attendance to operational tickets and resolve them
- Completeness and efficiency in handling and addressing tickets, operational tasks and projects
- Manage the projects and tasks assigned with less supervision
- Keep self-updated with latest Technologies and Solutions
- Prepare the operational reports and suggest improvements for solutions / technologies that are specially assigned and responsible to manage
- Keep monitoring and managing the solutions / technologies that are responsible/assigned proactively and keep updating on latest technologies for improvement of IT solutions
- Manage and maintain the Hardware infrastructure including Servers, Storage, Backup, etc. and take preventive action to maintain those
- Ensure proper backup are being maintained and restore tests are done routinely
- Prepare RFP, evaluate proposals and select best solutions for IT projects and operations
- Improve operational tasks by automating it and by introducing new approaches
- Escalate issues/problems that require immediate attention
- Work on special projects and tasks assigned

Required qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
- ITIL Foundation
- Certification in Microsoft (MCSE/MCTS) or Cloud Computing Technologies
- Citrix, Storage or Server management Certification is preferred
